Blue. That was her color for the week. In fact, earlier that morning, Nijiko had died her hair midnight blue. She had combed through her belongings to find an electric blue mini-skirt with blue sequins along the hem. It was one of the pieces she had made for herself. For a top, she had chosen a looser tank-top that had alternating, horizontal stripes of electric blue and navy blue. Even her flip-flops were navy blue.

The now blue-haired girl enjoyed her weeks of blue because she didn't have to bother with the color contacts that slipped and irritated her eyes at times. She smiled as she blew a blue bubble, giggling softly as it popped. The color blue always seemed to give the girl an extra shot of energy and sometimes that energy would cause her to become slightly hyper. Her poor teachers.

She clutched her books - now with blue covers freshly applied - to her chest, causing her bracelets of multiple shades of blue to clink together. She took a small, skipping step before proceeding to class. She withdrew her cell phone from her blue handbag to quickly check the time. A small smile betrayed her decision to stop at her locker for no apparent reason. She had at least three minutes left and her locker was near her next class anyways.

The sophomore spun her lock and opened the door. Shrugging, she deposited the books inside and withdrew a slip of paper. On it, her youngest older brother's new cell phone number was scribbled down. Doki, her eldest brother and current guardian, had asked her to call the younger boy when she had time. He wanted to know how their father was treating him and their other brother.

Nijiko sighed. Doki was such a good person even though he worried far too much. The girl grabbed her own phone - which now also had a blue cover - and entered the number. She didn't wee why they couldn't just go over to the house and ask in person. Then again, she thought with a frown. Doki doesn't exactly get along with dad too well. She shook her head before quickly typing a text message and sending it, cringing when her phone dinged.

Nijiko felt the boys eyes as he passed her. She watched out of the corner of her eye as he opened his locker, giggling quietly as he cursed. Her suspicions had been correct. He was definitely a Konoha student. Well, it was more the fact that she didn't recognize him other than his unmemorized locker combination.

She grabbed onto her locker door as she felt herself go. A troubled frown settled in place of her smile as she released the metal door from her death-grip and plopped to the ground. She folded her legs beneath her and studied the boy before finally voicing her conclusion. Konoha, ne? she asked.

Reaching up to the bottom of her locker, Nijiko grabbed her phone when it dinged again. Her brother had replied rather quickly. Too quickly for her taste, but she would wait until the end of the day to reply. He was nothing more than a nuisance, really, a constant thorn in Doki's side. She mumbled a curse while throwing the phone back into the locker before channeling her full attention to the boy standing at his locker.
